Full Description:

Before the event research Jewish fashion designers and find about fifteen that are interesting or surprised you. Also get about fifteen different half yard to yards of fabric and different embellishments. like beads, lace, pearls, chains, ribbons, etc.

The girls of Sababa BBG met for an overnight about Jewish fashion designers. The cost of the event was three dollars, which covered the cost of supplies. Everyone was also asked to bring a pasta, pizza, salad, or desert for a potluck dinner. After dinner the girls were asked to get in teams of four to five. These would be their design teams for the night. First we played a game to learn about some of the designers. each group was given a four page packet each page being a different designer. On each page there was a few facts about the designers. The groups were also given a plastic bag with twenty pictures in it. There was five pictures for each designer, that showed some of their designs. The groups had to go through the packet and decide which picture went with the designer. After all the teams finish. go around and see which team has the most correct on their sheets. The team with the highest score will get to chose their fabric first. After this game talk about some of the other Jewish fashion designers you found interesting and see if the girls know of any others. Then tell all the girls they are Jewish too and creative, so they can also design a fashion line. Tell the girls they will need to pick one model from the group to model the outfit and they will need to make a poster with the brand name and logo. Then let the team that one the game choose three different fabrics first and two different embellishments. continue the choosing with the second place team, third place, etc. Have available a hot glue gun, scissors, needle, and thread. Some of the girls will choose to sew, and some will just want to glue. After all the designing is done have a fashion show, showing all the designs and the brands. If girls are still wanting to design more let them use the extra fabric to design clothes for dolls.
