Program Summary:
The Inner Beauty program is where the girls of Music City BBG learned that it's what's on the inside that matters, no the materialistic things that people see on the outside.
Full Description:
Overview:
Who- All of Music City BBG
Where- A BBG's house
When- March 28, 2009
The program started out with a Havdalah service. The participants got motivational quotes to read see attachment for quotes
Then the girls moved into a large room to start the activities.
The girls gave each other "make unders" by putting ugly makeup on one another to show that it doesn't matter what you look like on the outside, what's important is what's on the inside.
Then everyone got into a big circle. The leaders read statistics about issues that affect many girls, such as eating disorders and body image issues. Then the leaders asked questions, such as "Do you wear makeup everyday?" and body image questions. The participants would stand up if they answered yes. see attachment for specific questions The girls realized that so many of their peers feel the same way about their bodies and the way they feel is completely normal.
Next everyone wrote their name three times on sheets of paper and put them in a bag. The bag was passed around and the girls picked three names out of the bag. Each girl wrote down compliments for the three girls they picked and shared them with the group.
Then every girl got a small mirror. They took the nice things people said about them and wrote it down on the mirror. They also decorated the mirrors with feathers, stickers, jewels, and markers. The next time the girls look in the mirror, they won't see the negative, they'll see what's great and unique about them.
The program ended with everyone sitting in a circle, turning the lights off, and having a good and welfare.

Comments:
What was so great about this program was when we drew the names out of the cup (to see who we were going to be talking about) some girls didn't know the bbg that they picked, so it really made the girls think and dig deep to find the inner beauty!!!
