Program Summary:

This is the semi-true story of six BBG's who come together to figure out their lives. See what happens when their true personalities show and they start getting REAL!

Full Description:

This Cotton States separates was planned by the 2008 Regional Board, going with the Convention theme of The Real World: CSR!

To begin the program, the board members and coordinator read a script to introduce their distinct characters to the BBG body. The only catch is all of their characters have a distinct problem with themselves. This hilarious scenario is included on this page.

After the skit, the BBGs are split into six different groups, one for each character. The board members and coordinator have to stay in character with their group, and answer questions about themselves within character. The BBGs act as a support group for the specific girl, and try to identify her problem. After about ten minutes of questioning, all the characters leave the room. The girls with the help of an advisor assigned to the group decipher the answers they received and analyze the character's issue.

Once they have finished analyzing, the characters enter the room again. Each group has a representative who proclaims their conclusion about their certain character to the entire group, giving a Path A and Path B: Path A is if the girl in question continues living as she does, and Path B is if she changes her ways for the better.

The end of the script is read, and the program is gone over with the group. The End!

Timing:

10 minutes-- Set up scenes, explain to the group what the purpose of the program is and any other details needed (DO NOT tell what each character is, or the program is ruined!)

15 minutes-- Skit! (It's written for six, but you can add more/take away as needed. Just keep in mind that the number of groups depends on the number of actors.)

15 minutes-- Questions and Answers

10 minutes-- Analyzing with the character gone

15 minutes-- Presentations of Path A and Path B for each character

10 minutes-- Program discussion

I loved this program. It works best when the people leading it stay in character the entire time. Even when they are just sitting there. It makes the program THAT much better!
