Program Summary:
Used at International Execs 2008, this icebreaker program gave participants a chance to share their vision for the BBYO year.
Full Description:
Introduction: Again, welcome to August XX 2008. You have been invited here because you are the top leaders from your respective regions or councils, and you’re here to work together with similar people to develop goals and ideas for the coming year. While most of the next few days will include participating in business meetings and leadership sessions planned by the International Board and Staff, we want you to have a voice. We want to know what is important to you—what you hope to get from the year, why we’re gathered here, and what this all means to you. In a few minutes, you’re all going to be divided into teams. After getting to know your team, you’re going to be given a clue that will lead you through a scavenger hunt around camp to gather materials. At the conclusion of the scavenger hunt, you will return here, to Katz, with a handful of materials, and your objective is to build something that represents what YOU think the theme for the year SHOULD be. What do you think that WE, as an Executive body, should be working towards this year? Whether you pick a cliché phrase or a verse from a prayer, this is your chance to explain to everyone your vision for BBYO. Are there any questions?
Suggested Supplies for Each Group (You can honestly use anything that is easy to build with.): glue/tape, scissors, construction paper, posterboard, cotton balls, popsicle sticks
Planning Process: It helps to make clue cards for each of the locations where materials will be. (See examples attached.) Under each clue card at each location needs to be a pile of materials for the groups to pick up on their way. Also, it's important to organize the scavenger hunt so that all of the groups are going to difference places at different times.

I've done this program!
This program was a great way to meet people in a new way while having fun! It also helped for everyone to understand one another's views on BBYO and our own BBYO missions. This would be excellent for a Leadership Convention or if your Region does an Execs type weekend!

I've done this program!
This program was a great meaningful way to meet people- I think leaders prefer this to the sillier types of icebreakers.
(Also, I took those pictures! Yay!)
