Program Summary:
Avitz and Frank Fierman AZA celebrated our American and Southern heritage through eating American food and participating in American activities.
Full Description:
(Cost- $3 each for food and paperware)
7:00- 7:20: Arrival
7:20-7:45 Recital of the Pledge of Allegiance and the Battle Hymn of the Republic along with an introduction to the program and what its about.
7:45-8:30 Dinner, services, and chilling: Traditional Shabbat dinner services including candle-lighting, the kiddush, and the motzi. For dinner there will be a classic southern breakfast including grits, pancakes, scrambled eggs,hash browns, apple pie and iced tea.
8:30-9:15 Civil War Reenactment: Chapter vs. Chapter capture the flag at the neighborhood park. Each chapter represents an American army of different era. (Ex. Avitz was the Colonial army.)
9:15-9:45 Discussion: We will hold discussion groups about Judah P. Benjamin (a Jew who served on cabinet during the Civil War) and discuss current issues in America today.
9:45-10:00: Pick up and Clean Up
