Program Summary:
With much drama going on in the chapter, the board decided that we really needed to have a sisterhood fold. So we wrote this script and ran it after MIT inductions. This program really brought our chapter closer and everyone got something out of it.
Full Description:
This program takes about a max of 20 minutes to run but we moved into a good and welfare after we finished. Overall this program was very effective. During the good and welfare everyone got out their feelings and related some of their issues to the program.
We also talked about what was wrong with our chapter AND what we thought was amazing about our chapter. This program for sure improved our sisterhood and some of the less active members that showed up really took an interest in the chapter again.
The script we used is attached and the different parts are our board members. One suggestion is to read very slow so everyone has a chance to comprehend everything this program is trying to get across.
We started with all of the lights turned off, everyone in a circle with the board on the outside, and a few candles in the middle. We gave each member a "palette" or a small square piece of posterboard with River City BBG Sisterhood written on it. Then we had six different colored candles and each candle stood for something different. (Elaborated more in the script)
Supplies:
6 candles each a different color
40 palettes (this number depends on how many members you are expecting, we made 40)
Submitter's Suggestions:
Make sure you run this fold on a night that you will for sure have high attendance! You want all of the chapter to be at this fold and that makes it even more effective. Also that there are no distractions during the program, make sure everyone is focused and listening.
