Program Summary:
We baked challah with the Director of Friendship Circle (an organization that helps disabled Jewish children) and donated them to the families.
Full Description:
Who: Chapter
What: Kiviat BBG baked challah to donate to the families of The Friendship Circle Arizona. We also learned the background of challah and the traditions that go along with it.
Where: Hosted by the director of Friendship Circle Arizona, Leahle Levertov.
When: A normal weekly event.
Why: To support our community, do a mitzvah, learn, and have fun!!
Supplies: Ingredients for challah. *Make sure it's kosher! (:
Planning: Be sure that you have a house to bake at that isn't worried about a mess. If you normally meet somewhere else, such as a JCC, make it clear to ALL of your members that you will be going somewhere else. Leave time to bake!!!
Cost: The cost of all the ingredients was around 20$.
Submitter's Suggestions:
Make sure you know how long the baking AND preparations takes. You may have to make your event a little longer than normal. Don't be afraid to get messy and have fun with it! Don't make this your usual challah baking!
