Program Summary:
We joined with MAchar AZA for a romantic themed evening on Valentine's Day!
Full Description:
Supplies:
-Date ranking slips of paper
-Bow and arrow poster game
-Chocolate covered strawberries
-4 large cardboard boxes
-Scissors
-Markers
-"Hitch" DVD or any other date movie
Tell everyone to dress semi-formally as well to make it seem like it's an actual "date"!
6:30- 6:45: people arrive
6:45- 7:15: Mixers & date ranking game. Everyone sit in a circle and go around saying your name, school, age, grade, color underwear, and favorite meat. Then split up girls into 2 groups and boys into 2 groups. 1 guy group and 1 girl group combine to make 1 “team”. Have a list of 10 possible dates, and hand out this sheet to each individual group (4 sheets total). Have each team separately rank the dates from 1 to 10, 1 being their date of choice. Then have everyone return into the same room. Have each guy group answer questions like “which date did they prefer: having a candlelit dinner or a romantic walk on the beach?” corresponding to what the girl group would answer, and vice versa.
7:15- 7:35: Havdallah and cheers
7:35- 7:55: Bow and Arrow game. Have 2 large poster boards, and draw 8 hearts of different sizes on it. The smaller the heart size, the more points it is worth (set how many points each heart is worth). Have the same teams as before compete against each other (1 boy+1 girl group vs. 1 boy + 1 girl group). Each team throws markers and aims for the hearts and totals up points.
7:55- 8:35: Teach basic salsa/other sensual dancing moves!
8:35-10:35: "Drive-in" movie and dessert. Have 4 large cardboard boxes, and divide the people into 4 groups. Each group receives a box, scissors, and markers. Each group decorates each box as they wish and try to replicate a box car (like the ones in drive-in movies from the 60s). Then watch the movie “Hitch” (because it has to do with dating and love), and let people sit in their creations of cardboard boxes if they wish! Come around serving chocolate covered strawberries (El Al’s chapter dessert, and a classic of Valentine’s Day)
10:35-10:45: End of the event: people get picked up
Submitter's Suggestions:
Have this event with guys and girls.
