Program Summary:
Tikvah BBG had a sisterhood program that dealt with legacy, life, and leadership
Full Description:
Amy Feldman and Miriam Lavenda planned a much needed sisterhood program on a Saturday night at Julia Amran's house. We searched through programs on the program bank and made them our own through meetings and phone conferences!
Amy also talked to friends she had in BBYO from all around the country and got highlights of their experiences to share with the group (attached)
The game of life was a fun opening to teach girls about choices they have in life (attached).
The legacy script (attached) taught girls that in order to be remembered, we have to do something and make an impact, not just stand idle. Each girl passed around a piece of construction paper with their name on it and wrote a memory/impact that person has had on the chapter.
Finally, we did an activity with candles and beads to represent how special each girl is (script attached)
We charged $5 to pay for dinner and supplies and sent out weekly "save the date" notices and made a facebook event. We had almost 30 girls in attendence which was one of our highest turnouts.
Submitter's Suggestions:
make the legacy book pages ahead of time by printing off a picture of each girl to construction paper and writing their name above it.
