Find out what happens when the truth is revealed and they start getting REAL. (Stage is set) Mara: Perfectionist: Hi! Im Lindsey, a dedicated BBG, president of my chapter, and I have a 4.0 GPA. Im taking 5 APs and could take six, but I have to have a lunch period as required by my school. People say Im uptight and should just loosen up, but what do they know? They definitely dont know my parents. Sara: Party Girl: Hey yall! Im Sarah, and I love my friends! We hang out every weekend, and party it up! It doesnt even matter where we are, I dont even know where I am half the time! We have the best pictures, Im drunk in most of them though hahaha. Whatevs, I heart BBG so much because Ive met SO many new people! Im just a member, because being on board is way too much responsibility. I couldnt do that and keep my party schedule up! There is no such thing as too much partying. Wendi: Flake: Hi everyone! Im Hallie, and I love BBYO and BBG! I cant go to many programs though becausewell I forget about them. But I still love it! I wish there was some way I could help out, butI dont know. Abby: Self Conscious Girl: Hey. Im Rebecca, and Im a BBG. I dont have a problem with myself; its you who obviously has a problem with me. Why are you looking at me like Im an ugly fat bitch? I hate you too. Zoe: AZA Crazy Girl: HIIIII! Im Micalla and I joined BBYO to meet new AZAs!!! I mean, duh they are all sooo freakin hott and Jewish! Its perfect! I mean, I have these really great girl friends too. But I still LOOOOVEEE boys! They are my best friends! So whats wrong with loving them all? Emily: Overcommitted: Hi Im Ashley, and I love BBYO. It gives me another extracurricular to be a part of along with swim team, Student Council, Science Olympiad, Mu Alpha Theta, Class Secretary, co-captain of the soccer team, President of the French Club, and MIT Mom of my chapter! I love being busy, its so much funright? Skit: Micalla the AZA Crazy Girl and Sarah the Party girl are chatting about boys. Micalla: OHMIGOD he looks SO hott in that sweater! Sarah: Yeah, he looks even better with it off, like I saw him last weekend. Micalla: No you DIDNT! AHHHHH Im soooooo super jealous! Sarah: Oh yeahh. But he had to tell me about it the next day; I dont remember a thing that night besides passing out. It was awesome. (Lindsey the Perfectionist comes and takes a seat) Lindsey: Hey guys, whatre you talking about? Micalla: Sarahs AWESOME weekend the other week! Sarah: It was pretty sweet, what did you do last weekend Lindsey? Lindsey (looks around nervously): Uhh, you knowhung out. Sarah: you were doing homework, werent you? Lindsey: Yeah Micalla: GIRL we have got to find you a boyfriend! Lindsey: I dont have time for a boyfriend. Plus my parents would FLIP out. I have to keep my grades up. Sarah: Yeah, otherwise your GPA might drop to mine. Micalla: And at least you have more time than Ashley. (Ashley the Resume Slut comes in, frazzled and holding her life in her hands) Ashley: so I just got done with tutoring this girl in French, and she didnt learn anything! Then I had to help that new freshman use b-linked so she could sign up for Convention, and now lunch is almost over and I havent even thought about eating! (Rebecca and Hallie walk over) Micalla: Like I said. Her boyfriend would dump her from the mere sight of her extracurricular list. Rebecca the Self-Conscious one: At least she could get a boyfriend. Lindsey: Becca, you can get a boyfriend, dont think you couldnt! Rebecca: Whatever Lindsey. Im ugly and guys dont like me. Sarah: Youre so full of it, Rebecca. You always talk about this, so just get over it. Guys suck anyway. Rebecca: Easy for you to say! At least youve had a boyfriend! Just shut up, Sarah! You always think you know me but you dont! Hallie: Woah, easy guys its ok. Sarah: Shut up Hallie. And where the hell were you at the program last week? They had to give someone else your part to lead in the service. Way to go, again. Hallie: Im sorry, I lost track of time Lindsey: Thats the third program youve missed in a row. Hallie: Well sorry if Im not perfect like you Ms. All-my-clothes-are-organized-in-color-order. Ashley: Hey, does anyone know when officer nominations are due for Mu Alpha Theta? All: NO!!!! Ashley: All right, just thought Id ask. Lindsey: Ash, you really dont need another position to be in charge of. Ashley: Well my grades suck so Im basing my college acceptance on extracurriculars. Micalla: I cant wait for Convention!! Rebecca: So you can hook up with the entire Regional Board and their fathers? Micalla: Uh! That wasnt very nice, Rebecca. (all girls are glaring at one another, Ashley is still working on filling out papers) FREEZE!! Evaluate: Read descriptions again to group. R-Board and Abby should stay in character for the rest of the time until the end! Split BBG girls up into six different groups, with one character per group. Groups should work out scenarios for their character: What should the girl in question do to put herself on the right path? Make up Path A: Right Way and Path B: Wrong Way. The character must stay in character and answer questions about herself in order for the group to make the best decision. Present the two fates of each character, Wrong one first. IV. Mesh everything back together in big group. Wendi: What have we learned from this activity? (Wait for a few responses) Abby: So were you able to see yourselves in each of these characters? (pause for yeses or nos) Emily: Sometimes, we become something we dont want to be. Zoe: And its hard to pull ourselves out of situations sometimes. Mara: But by having people to help us along, we can be re routed on the right direction. Sara: Sometimes we get stuck in a pattern that isnt healthy for ourselves or the ones around us. Abby: We feel insecure about ourselves. Mara: We dont know how to balance our friends and schoolwork. Wendi: We break promises weve made, and forget important things way too often. Zoe: We become obsessed with boys, when its our girls who will never let us down. Emily: And we sometimes become too overcommitted and dont give one or two things our best effort, giving seven or eight things half the time they require. All: We are Real Girls. Wendi: And well have to learn how to deal with pressures in the Real World. Zoe: Life is too short to do harmful things to yourselves and others. Mara: Even our role models arent perfect. Emily: So take time for yourself, make a new friend, become a sister to another girl. Abby: Balance is key with anything you do. Sara: And always know that BBG is here for you to fall back on.
